Dr. Tasnuva Khan

Dr. Tasnuva Khan is a passionate advocate for health equity, social justice, and environmental sustainability. As the founder of Faith Alliance for Community Equity & Sustainability (FACES), she has spearheaded initiatives such as the Building Blocks for Healthy Communities project, a program dedicated to addressing health disparities in marginalized and underserved communities by promoting education, nutrition access, and opportunities for physical activity.

Dr. Khan’s commitment to equitable healthcare extends to her leadership of Faith and Vaccines, a vital initiative that ensures fair distribution and access to COVID-19 vaccines in Maryland, particularly in communities disproportionately affected by the pandemic. Her dedication to social justice is further exemplified by her appointment to the Montgomery County Racial Equity and Social Justice Advisory Committee, where she advocates for systemic change and community uplift.
In recognition of her tireless work, Dr. Khan received a Governor’s Citation in 2021 from the state of Maryland, honoring her leadership and contributions to the immigrant and faith-based communities. In May 2024, the Maryland General Assembly presented her with an official citation for her continued advocacy and awarded her the 2024 Impact Silver Spring Momentum Award, celebrating her work as a health justice advocate and as the driving force behind Faith and Vaccines. This award highlighted her success in activating Maryland’s diverse communities for positive civic and social impact.
Dr. Khan also co-founded the Muslim Voices Coalition, amplifying the voices of underrepresented communities. Professionally, she combines her expertise as a pharmacist and hospital pharmacy manager with her commitment to community advocacy. Outside of her professional endeavors, Dr. Khan is a devoted wife and mother, balancing her advocacy and leadership with family life and deep community involvement.
